The Major

The Department of Classics offers a major that allows maximal flexibility for students to pursue their interests in the languages and cultures of Ancient Greece and Rome.

  • Major Requirements

    Requirements for a major in Classics
  • Junior Colloquium

    The Colloquium will normally be completed by the end of the junior year. The purpose of the Colloquium is to ensure that students are prepared for the work they will be doing for their senior projects (seminar and colloquium).
  • Senior Seminar

    A description of CLAS 394 Senior Seminar
  • Senior Symposium (Comps)

    Also referred to as “Comps,” the Senior Symposium, combined with the Senior Seminar, completes the senior integrative exercise.
