College Events are a visible means of communicating the intellectual and social vibrancy of Carleton College. This office produces events that:

  • complement the educational mission of the college by bringing distinguished speakers to campus for lectures and discussions around significant topics through a series of Weekly Convocations.
  • commemorate academic accomplishment through ceremonies and other traditional occasions such as Opening Convocation, Honors Convocation, and Commencement.
  • celebrate significant moments and milestones through celebrations such as the Carleton Sesquicentennial and the annual Employee Recognition Celebration.
  • create connections between Carleton and its various constituencies with gatherings such as Family Weekend and the annual holiday open house for Northfield community partners, as well as by serving local organizations that hold events on campus.
