To help you sort through the paperwork, policies, and events you need to know about as a new faculty member, we have developed the following checklist. Please note that items on the checklist are required unless otherwise noted. Please do not hesitate to call us if you have questions. We look forward to seeing you on campus!
Checklist
DO IMMEDIATELY UPON HIRE
- Sign and return your contract letter
- Submit official graduate school transcript to Dean’s Office
- Complete the background check application
- Complete the Personnel Information form
- Complete the Housing Request form (optional)
- Let us know about your computing needs
TWO MONTHS PRIOR TO START DATE
- Faculty starting fall term 2020:
- Complete the Biographical Information form and upload your photo (headshot only, please) – due July 10
- RSVP for the Dean’s Reception on Thursday, September 3rd, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
- Contact your library liaison about your library needs
- Notify us of any address changes
- Let your departmental administrative assistant know when you plan to arrive on campus
- Begin checking your Carleton e-mail
- Order a cap and gown for opening convocation (optional)
ONE MONTH PRIOR TO START DATE
- Complete the required training
- Complete your Carleton Profile
- Complete your Employment Paperwork
- Talk to your department assistant to arrange for your department and building keys.
- Sign up for electronic W-2 delivery
- Sign up for CarlAlert
WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON CAMPUS
- Obtain an employee ID card and campus parking tag and pronounce your name
- Contact Amy Swenson to obtain a Carleton Purchasing Card (optional)
- Relocation/Moving Expenses
