A full-time research assistant (lab manager) is sought for the labs of Dr. Pearl Chiu, Dr. Brooks King-Casas, and Dr. Stephen LaConte at the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at Virginia Tech Carilion (http://research.vtc.vt.edu). Projects in the labs combine methods from experimental and clinical psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral economics with functional neuroimaging to investigate decision-making in healthy and clinical populations (current projects have a focus on borderline personality disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, substance-use disorders, at-risk youth, and traumatic brain injury).

Summer Internship at Yale School of Management
6 February 2020Research assistants will collaborate with faculty and graduate students on day-to-day research being conducted, which includes: programming surveys on Qualtrics, data collection in the lab, field, and online environments, analyzing and summarizing data, revising/editing manuscripts, assisting with literature reviews, IRB proposals, and presentations, and attending research meetings, seminars, and statistical methods workshops (in R). At the end of the 8-week internship, all interns will present their research progress at a mini-conference hosted by the School of Management.

The Cooperation Lab at Boston College
6 February 2020Summer RAs will gain experience with all stages of the research process, including recruiting families, collecting data, analyzing data, and discussing results. Each summer RA will be paired with a graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, or lab coordinator mentor for the duration of the summer, and have a main project.
In addition, RAs will attend weekly lab meetings with other undergraduates, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, the principal investigator, and lab coordinators to discuss ongoing and key research in the field of psychology. Intermittent professional development and other seminars will also occur, such as data analysis workshops (e.g., R) and panels on applying to graduate school.

Summer Program for Undergraduate Researchers (SPUR) 2020 at Carnegie Mellon University
6 February 2020PIER’s SPUR program allows talented undergraduates to spend 8 weeks during the summer in a research laboratory at CMU. Each student will receive a fellowship stipend of $3,000 and apartment-style housing will be provided.
