Next Grant Deadline:
Friday, May 15, 2020
For the May grant cycle, the Public Works Call for Proposals is targeted at projects for summer 2020. During the pandemic, we know that many of you are facing unexpected challenges to your research and teaching plans. Many of our students are also struggling to find employment for the summer months. Public Works would like to offer help in funding your work that engages the community or reflects on how digital technology can best serve diverse publics. With this in mind, we offer this additional opportunity to apply for Public Works support for work that can be done remotely with Student Research Partners. For more information, see our Call for Proposals page.
Previous grantees are also able to apply for more funding for the same project, however a grant report must be submitted before a new application is considered.
Questions about applying? Please review our FAQ page or contact Co-Directors Kelly Connole and Susannah Ottaway.
Carleton Covid-19 Archive
We are all living in the midst of a global pandemic that has transformed how we live our lives. Help us document the experiences of living during this historic moment of crisis to help future generations make sense of what is happening.
In collaboration with Professor Serena Zabin, Broom Fellow for Public Scholarship, we have created an archive and are welcoming submissions that speak to the responses to and experiences of the pandemic at Carleton and in its communities. For more information and to contribute, please visit the Carleton Covid-19 Archive.
Congratulations to Professor Cecilia Cornejo!

Professor Cecilia Cornejo was awarded a McKnight Fellowship for Community-Engaged Artists in January 2020. Professor Cornejo is one of just two inaugural recipients of the fellowship. The fellowship provides a stipend, public recognition, professional development, one-on-one mentorship, and an opportunity to participate in a public discussion about their practice. In her work, Professor Cornejo explores notions of home, belonging, and the immigrant experience and is currently working on The Wandering House. Congratulations to Professor Cornejo!
