The Carleton College Title IX Lead Team is committed to responding to incidents of sexual misconduct in ways to keep our campus safe and provide healing and support for all parties involved. The documents on this page contain the most up to date information regarding the student resolution procedures.
The Title IX Coordinator works directly with students to help resolve issues, based on the wishes of the individual who has experienced the misconduct. Priority is placed on the wishes of the student victim, keeping campus safe, and preventing re-occurrence. If a student wants to resolve the situation without involving a hearing board, the Title IX Coordinator assists in that process. Anytime a student wants there to be sanctions/consequences, due to misconduct, the resolution process involves a hearing board, the Community Board on Sexual Misconduct (CBSM). Members of the CBSM are appointed through the governance process.
Details about the resolution process, whether a student wants a hearing board involved or not, can be found in the pdf document entitled “Student Reporting and Resolution Procedures”.
